Guinea talk.

I got my first ever guinea egg today! It was right by the leghorn eggs, too! No egg hunts so far. It is smaller and dark brown, so I'm pretty sure it was a guinea rather than a bantam. The bantams all lay greenish tinted eggs, not brown. I hope the others follow suit and lay by the leghorns! It would make life much easier!

Sorry to hear that you lost one. Hope the rest can get their situation figured out so it doesn't happen again.
I do too. But my bad luck streak has yet to leave. This morning I was feeding the birds and noticed one of my new guinea girls had a limp I coaxed her into a corner and picked her up inspecting her feet first then making my way up her legs to see her left ankle is swollen. I'm wondering if her high perch might have sprained her ankle when she came down. I have a large 1x2 in the rafters as a storage and the new guinea girls have claimed it as their nighttime sleeping area. So she is in the hospital box in the living room with my two plucked chickens. She is not pleased one bit, chatting and chirping. But in order for her not to agitate it I brought her in.

Any advice on how to help her heal quickly, besides bringing her in? And this one happens to be the one that got cut the day we got her. So she knows what the house is.

I hope you're guinea gets better. I'm sorry to hear about you're keet, too. I hope you're luck gets better. I wish I could give you advice about your guinea, but I don't know anything about healing swollen legs. Sorry!

Martins poultry you can mix epson salts with warm water and soak a rag in it and hold it against the foot where it is sore. Try and hold it for about fifteen minutes if you can. Do it everyday for about three days. It really helped spider whrn he was limping.:

Will do, she got an epsom salt soaking bath and just sat there for about 25 mins. Shes resting now with Caramellow my half naked chicken hen, those two seem to get along but the white hen i had with them is a little more than bossy so she went into an isolation box in my room.

I hope in a few days I can put Zelda back out. She went full lap puppy and just laid there for an hour after her soak, and after i did a short ice to it.
