Gun control and the second amendment....

I don't think the world wil become a safer place if everyone is mostly interested in their own rights to own weapons.
Fact; the easier it is to get a gun, the bigger the chance guns will be used in crimes, the bigger the chance you will need one to defend yourself.
In my opinion, gun owners should be tested once a year to see if they're mentally stable enough to keep a weapon that's designed to kill from a distance.

I do have to laugh at the NRA comment. The NRA is known for killing as many pro gun bills as it helps pass. It also helps write anti gun bills. They are not pro anything other than keeping them selves relevant so they keep getting payed by the masses. I have no use for the NRA. A few years ago they were trying to kill a law to repeal the Jim Crow "public gathering" law in georgia. Not publicly mind you but in the offices in atlanta, they lobbied hard on it. But at the same time they wanted a law about carrying in parking lots.

Another interesting bit on NPR. Background checks are only required when buying a gun from a licensed dealer. There is no requirement to have a license to sell a gun....

"A" gun... I can sell "A" gun that I own to someone I know in my state but it is a crime to sell to someone that is ineligible. It is also a crime to deal in guns without a dealers license.
