Well, they didn't specify what was being dripped on it but the project was published in a science journal in English somewhere so I'm sure with a bit of digging some detailed info should be available online.

Would powder calcium carbonate work. Mabey crushed and ground eggshell.

Yeah probably. That's what we are doing. My husband thinks we are all going crazy I have to clean my bator too. The ducks I hatched made a mess and I still have one duck egg left.

Can't wait. I've watched it on YouTube from China but they was adding drops of some kind of liquid a few times a day. I didn't understand Chinese or I would have gotten the name of the chemical in the needle they was adding.. youtube has everything known to human on it.

First of all, it was Japan and those videos didn't provide much information.

Never the less, it is not impossible to hatch a chick withing the entire shell, so I think it would be more possible to hatch one that still has the membrane.

Well since school has been cancelled this household is doing egg experiments...

We are trying a shell-less egg and we will find other experiments as well throughout the next few weeks.

I don't know that much about chickens but I think you should keep it sanitized. Think of that lucky chick though if it does hatch! It wouldn't need to peck!

It would be cool if it worked. Also, just realized that I typed hatched before... I mean fully-formed? What is it called if they have no shells... XD

I know it's just two timey drops each time out of a little syringe so I'm not sure if it would be to much on the liquid side. U would have to use to much water I'd assume to break the powder down

I'm going to put the calcium between the plastic wrap and the egg insides. I'm going to try a few different ways including dropping some in.
