HALLOWEEN HATCH!!! Anyone

evonne, if all of us are doing it, does that make it right?

I have a question for y'all
2 of mine, one that I helped and one that I didn't, have a curled foot. Is there something I should do about it?

oh wow your quite the doctor! i must amend you for doing what you did. Sounds like you did an awesome job helping the little guy out. I sure hope he makes it...if hes running around i would take that as a good sign. What do you think i should do with my newly found pip??

*tosses Hersheys and Dove to the masses in thanks*

Babies are good - and I have another!

I mostly peeled my SEP (small end pip), last night. She'd rested all night, breathing easily and moving a bit. Finally, this afternoon, I picked her up and stroked her back and wing. She kicked and the shell popped right off. I had to wash her off a little - when I was zipping her membrane I hit a vessel, and put sugar on it to stop the bleeding. Well, the bleeding stopped but I kind of candied her in the process. LOL Anyhoo, she's all fluffed out now, dozing in the brooder. And OMG she's may be the cutest of the lot so far. I will take pics but my @*%^! camera, which had been making strange grinding noises when I turned it on, made a strange cracking noise and stopped working entirely. I need to get out my backup camera so I can share the joy of my bebbies!

Okay, I had like eight pages to read to catch up, so if I miss anybody my apologies.

Kathy - So sorry about your drowned baby, but SO happy about your pips!

Suechick - Congrats on the hatch party!

Asylum - Hard call. If his beak is out, he may not be able to turn, in which case I would start a zip for him ASAP, instead of letting him waste his strength. I did it for one of my kitty cracked, end pipped eggs last night and it worked out great. Baby got herself out, she just needed me to open the door for her, so to speak. However, I am an extreme newbie at hatching and interventions, so I defer to the more experienced members of the board.

evonne - Congrats on a successful invention!

Everyone who has new babies - YAY!!!

OK, I'm a total newbie and you can't consider my opinion as informed, but I would do it, heck I just took 2 of mine completely out, not that I think it's the "right" thing to do but gosh, who can stand to let the precious little ones just pass when we might be able to help?
