Heya, sorry for kinda dropping out for a while. I had to make dinner for my mom and myself, and throw a couple of loads of laundry in, tidy up some things... I have to catch up on all the housework I let slide while I was on 'bator watch.

Kathy & Suechick, the contest for BYC calender is an AWESOME idea..!!!

We should totally float the idea - I think it would get a lot of interest and entries, and I know there are some wonderful photographers here on BYC. Much fun!!!

Suechick - all the chicks are Serama. I am sooooo jazzed that I got such a rainbow of chicks. I have promised a pair to someone, but I have no idea how I'm going to let any of my babies go...!

I've gotten a 'baby' pic of each on which I will upload and share shortly. I have way too many cute shots already, which I'll eventually start a new thread for.

to you Kathy... I have to say reading and catching up in the mornings was a blast all you night owls..

Well back to baby sitting detail..I was up 3 times last night..Washed and dressed the baby and have been out for a morning walk and of coarse had to show the baby the chickens...I have been having so much fun, Ready for a nap!!

Yippee! I got 6 the night before Halloween, three more hatched while we were handing out candy to cute little panhandlers and one more was pipping when I left for work this morning. These are Speckled Sussex from RAREROO, and what a lively bunch they are! I peek in with a little flashlight, they are now starting to 'flock' to the light when I look in. It's too cute to show Halloween visitors the chicks 'going toward the light.' lol

Ok, I have two babies that were hatched out by 10:30 last night - the other eggs I still have no action on and they may just be bad eggs. My batteries died in my candler flashlight, so I never did candle them.

I have a buff orp baby and a BabyMama baby (game mix - could be half buff orp,

told ya Bubba was a Love Bandit)

But they are adorable. I still have them in the hatcher, have yet to put them into their brooder bin. I wanted to wake up a little first. The Buff Orp baby took all day in Pip Mode, then it finally just bust out later last night. The BabyMama egg pipped for a couple hours, then came out pretty quickly. I missed the zipping and hatching on that one it happened so fast.

Whatever happens with the other eggs, I'm happy to at least have two (for company) and now I'm gonna leave the bators empty until December (got too much to do this month anyway - got family coming down for Thanksgiving/Christmas combined).

no names yet for these little ones - but it'll probably be Addams Family related.

Oh, btw, while watching the Addams Family marathon yesterday, I heard a couple of other family names I had forgotten -

Remember how I joked that I was going to get a pip on one of the early November eggs? Well...It's a bantam.

Now everyone is dried out, the bantam colors of the true Halloween chicks are black, medium grey, and silver grey. All of three them take after their cuckoo mother.

Here are my 4 little Halloween babies. The 5th one (black with yellow face) was born after midnight. Heres the thumbnail size since there are so many pics going up, trying to be dial up friendly lol

Now I must sit on my hands until the next 15 come out...
