Hands on hatching and help

I treated everyone for a week just to be safe. Then gave everyone nutridrench in their water for a week afterward.
3/4 a teaspoon
That's what I was thinking. No, I never saw not even one feather plucked.
That's pretty much par for the course with most shipped eggs. I'm sorry they were not in better shape. I wouldn't touch them for up to 48 hours depending on how bad (wobbly) you think they were. Are you home to hand tilt them? I start tilting mine from one side of the cup to the other 3-5 times a day and just keep going like that. Usually after day 12 the air cells will firm up. You may loose some the first week, that's pretty normal.

The ones I have in the bators now came from 2 different areas. The OEGB eggs were a little more wobbly, they came from further away. I put one set in the Eco20 and one set in the Adv20 about 24 hours after I got them. Almost all were firm within 48 hours. I lost 8 OEGB the first week. 6 blood rings, 2 clear. The choc orp eggs were a little wobbly, but look great at day 7. Only 2 clears of 14. So I have 8 in the bator and I gave 4 to my new chocolate broody last night. She better not ruin these expensive eggs! :)

I have a auto Turner but it's the new kind that actually roll the eggs.

You're still in the egg cartons right now. They've now been in the incubator in the egg cartons for I think 18 hours.

I can manually tilt them right now if I need to before I turn the auto turn On

Is this new turner the one where you lay the eggs down on their sides and it turns them that way? If so, I would NOT recommend using it with shipped. Most shipped need to be somewhat vertical-ish.

Really? Ok. I have the other Turner too I'll go turn the incubator on and then transfer the eggs once it's reached its temperature.

I can't speak for everyone but having them on their side hasn't effected mine much. I have them laying down or vertical and was getting similar hatch rates from both. I haven't hatched any from local yet so all I have is shipped eggs for comparison lol. I leave mine set upright for 24 hours then after setting them in the incubator I turn them every 3 hours starting at 5 am. I try to get up one time in the night as well. I have had good hatch rates with regular chicks. Not so get with bantams though. I haven't found what to do with those yet. :(

Mine are mostly bantams

Right after saying my hatches have been ok I get a malposition. God's laughing at me right now.... :) it's externally pipped the wrong end. I made a little hole but it started to bleed so I staunched it and put it back in the incubator. This is already the 2nd assist. The first one pipped into a vein. I left it alone and after a few hours it had almost completely zipped then stalled. I left it for another hour and it still hadn't finished zipping. Finally I helped it out. It's drying off in a seperate incubator. It's very active. Hope this other one makes it... any good tips for a wrong end pip? This is my first.... :(

Well 2 out of 5 chicks have hatched. 2 are malpositions who externally pipped at the wrong end. I've assisted one and its fluffing out in the extra incubator. The other still has heavy veining so I guess it's just a waiting game. One is externally pipped but no zipping yet. Last 2 have nothing going on yet. I've candled both. One has movement and the other is to dark to tell. Hopefully they will all be safely delivered soon. :)
