All I can say is please watch "The Business of Bieng Born". What happened to you is very common and it explains it. Honestly, has soon as I read your post that was all I could of!

Ok, so very interesting and a lot of it rings true!! I don't know if I could have ever done a home birth.....lol But I can definitely see where the dominoe effect was greatly present in my situation!

My daughter had a wonderful midwife that helped her through a tough delivery. So glad more Hospital OB departments are employing advanced practice nurses/ nurse midwives these days! Really worked well for her -had the attention of a midwife, but was in the hospital in case of an emergency. Great system.

I've never heard anyone in my area having a midwife. When I lived near Syracuse my best friend used a mid wife for both of hers (who I couldn't stand....lol) but did labor and deliver in the hospital.

All these birth horror stories are one of the reasons I don't want kids, lol.

My peachicks go into lockdown tomorrow! And of course they're hatching the one weekend I have to be away to watch a friend's house while she's out of town. I have a feeling her dog and I will be spending a lot of time at my place.

I'm not sure exactly what the "clinic" was that my granddaughter was born in, but it was like a house that had been remodeled, the rooms had real beds, and I think the workers were midwives also. It was very "home-like".

I had a scheduled C-section because my son was breach. Got to call everyone and say "Baby will be here Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m.!"

No basement, but do have other storage areas that stay cool.  Hubby's office might be an option. 

Also, my old incubator that quit working... the old knockoff Chinese thing... well, the turner was still fine, but plugged directly into the unit's control board.  So I ordered a new turner motor, with an attached wall-plug thingy.  My thinking was putting it in the FI styro.  Wrong!  The whole turner is too big.  So I debated on how to cut it down to fit.  Hubby suggested using it as stand-alone, to turn eggs being stored, and just buy the right turner for the FI.  How bout that?  He earns his keep every once in a while! 

Awesome idea!! I've thought about that myself...looking for an old turned and getting it cheap to turn eggs in storage.

Yup. The film goes to extremes with the home births but a lot of it is true. my girlfriend had to have a c-section for the same reasons as you.

That's what I did with my last. I had already had a c-section but was able to use a midwife at a hospital that had birthing pools and were very lax about their rules. Best of both worlds.

My second son was breech and he finally flipped last minute (I tried all this crazy stuff, every wives tale in the book) but he got tangle in the cord when he flipped and every time I tried to push he couldn't breath. Next thing I know I was in the OR. I remember how his head was right up in my ribs the whole last trimester...so uncomfortable!

They don't get off the nest except for once or twice a day to eat, drink, and poop. They might pluck their breast to allow their skin to come into contact with the eggs. When you approach them on the nest they may puff up and growl at you or make dinosaur noises. Like this:
