Hands on hatching and help

i just added a couple young seramas to my main pen. Tossed them in and didn't watch. Let them sort it out. Lol! That was last week and they are still alive. Still stay to themselves, and can't get on the upper roost yet, but they are in there!

And another one of the lav orps that i took from the mean broody and transported home from the farm has hatched, and the final one is externally pipped!

Ok my mystery eggs that I had no clue when they were going to hatch. I have one that externally pipped 2 days ago so made a safety hole this morning veins are thin but it's still absorbing. What I'm finding strange is the other eggs look like they aren't even at that stage still moving but not much. Does anything know anything about this? I know they were put in at the same time maybe it's my incubator

Same mystery breeds? If different breeds, they could easily be at different stages. Maybe some had already been sat on by a hen? hot/cool spots in your bator is most likely, if none of those things are possible..

oh, or egg age. I've found that older laid eggs sometimes take a little longer.

omg they are like tied together with strings! Very rarely do i see them with much distance between them.

and i have to share pics of the last 2 lav orps that made the hour journey home, and hatched 4 days later. (the one that hatched first is with a broody momma)

Same mystery breeds? If different breeds, they could easily be at different stages. Maybe some had already been sat on by a hen? hot/cool spots in your bator is most likely, if none of those things are possible..

oh, or egg age. I've found that older laid eggs sometimes take a little longer.

They are shipped so I'm unsure about any of that. One had died yesterday so I done a eggtopsy and it was weirdly wrapped around the yolk so there was no way that one was going to survive. Maybe the others are like that? The other one is doing good it's started peeping through the night. These are ducks by the way

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! This is my first batch of chicks I had one hatch yesterday around 8:00 PM his feathers look crusted and he's not fluffed up. From what I have read my humidity was probably too high? I have 4 or 5 more eggs that have started to hatch but haven't started to zip yet. Can I help the little guy out so he's fluffy? Thanks!

Peeping is good! Ducks take extra time, so hang in there!

How high is your humidity? Condensation on the inside of the window? If you have more eggs that have pipped, it can take upwards of 24 hours from the time they pip the shell, so just hang in there. If the first one hatched on its own, chances are good for the rest to follow today!

How high is your humidity? Condensation on the inside of the window? If you have more eggs that have pipped, it can take upwards of 24 hours from the time they pip the shell, so just hang in there. If the first one hatched on its own, chances are good for the rest to follow today!

Right now because they are hatching I increased it to around 65. No condensation on the windows. Thanks for your help!
