Okay so the chick I had to help hatch is doing GREAT! I named him/her?? Strugglebuskins. Now I am curious.... How do I KNOW my chicks are HAPPY?? My lil struggle will rest comfortably in my palm or lap and even snooze! But what are the signs of a truly happy bird? Are there special noises or particular behaviors? Google doesnt help other than suggestions on things to give them or toys to make.. This is well and good but I want to KNOW without a doubt my birds are HAPPY. Am I crazy?? 😆 I give attention and cuddles and the occasional treat.. Which reminds me is there a "best" kind of grit for them? Could sand be used? Im learning so please be kind to me! Thanks in advance!

Just buy some crushed granite.
For chicks, Chick Grit.
For adults, Poultry Grit.

If the chicks are eating/drinking, active and not peeping urgently in distress. They are basically happy.
