Hatching duckling troubles

We have 2 new ducklings hatched by some broody ducks. This morning my daughter found this kicked out of the nest into the middle of the shed. She picked it up and brought it into me because she was freaked out by how it looked. (She’s 8 )

The duckling is moving a little. But it is weird because all the shell has been knocked off what looks like a very thick membrane but the membrane hasn’t been pierced. You can see some of the shell left on one end. I have it sitting on a heating pad right on my lap right now. Lol. Help?

Keep that membrane moist until they reply! I put coconut oil on mine to keep it from drying out.

I am sitting here with my spray bottle spraying it every few minutes

It is strange like there are 2 membranes. One really thick almost like a soft egg shell that was under the regular shell and another thin one.

Be careful with the spray bottle because spraying them with water can chill them even if the water if warm.

There are two membranes, one just under the shell and one around the duckling.
