I use hamster type bottles for my indoor brooders too.  They instantly figure it out.  I've only had one problem with them.  When I move chicks out to a larger brooder with a traditional type waterer, sometimes they'll stand and die of thirst before they willingly switch over from the tube of a bottle.  They just don't seem to recognize open water as a drinking source.  It takes more time to convert them back and I've had to be really careful.  Of course, if you use nipples in all your pens, that wouldn't be an issue.

I'm looking for some white silkie hatching eggs. My daughters white silkie hen got killed by a predator last night. :-( I also need some lf salmon faverolle hatching eggs if anyone has those. I would like to hatch for a new roo as I only have a pair. Send me a pm and we can do a side swap.

Has anyone been on RBA and seen the person with the same GFF photo posted along with their hatching eggs. They are also on ebay. I think this came up earlier but crazy. Do we know anything about this person? pretty funny if you search for rhodebar on RBA right now you can see the two ads right next to each other.

Yay, glad to hear it! I don't know if you have any more coming off top of my head but I will be shipping out a TON of swaps on Tuesday. I collected nearly 3 dozen eggs today. If that total holds up for the next 3 days then there will be some serious swap fulfilling on Tuesday!

oh, and I meant to say to all those that got silkie, sizzle hatching eggs. I hatched 4 frilkies from the ones that hatched about a week ago. 3 black and one cuckoo. Pretty exciting! Hope you guys get some too! by summer I should have a nice pen of frilkie roo over BBS hens, and a Blue or Splash silkie roo over a bunch of black frilkie hens. excited about this project as they are so fun looking! I would be offering more but I have been busy and have 3 silkies being broody together. gonna just let them hatch this batch while working on their new quarters. then I can move them after the hatch.

Apparently they think its OK as their camera isn't working right now and the pic is supposedly from augera.org. I haven't been able to find that website. I did find a link to report this on eBay as it is a violation of policy.
Papa, just noticed your location and my aunt lives in Davis. She was telling me of a bike ride once a year to tour all the coops in the area. Sounded like a ton of fun.

How can you tell frilkie? I need to take pics and post of the three silkies I hatched from you last week. They are super cute.
