Celtic, I know you've said before that you get better results via laying down and hand turning, but for small time hatching, would it be okay to use the turner for sebbie eggs?

No, not even worth the risk.Celtic, I know you've said before that you get better results via laying down and hand turning, but for small time hatching, would it be okay to use the turner for sebbie eggs?
a 50% hatch on shipped eggs is considered a good hatch, so dont beat yourself up too badly. Thanks y'alljust want to get the most out of these shipped eggs, when I hatch the eggs I collect from my hens, I get between 90-100% hatch rate. So I was really disappointed when only 5 of 12 hatched from the shipped, but as I said, I had zero experience or knowledge on hatching shipped eggs....praying for a better hatch rate from these eggs![]()

with shipped eggs yes. Higher is not unheard of though, just know 50% is looked at like a good hatch.50% is good rate???![]()
I use 1/4" hardware cloth in one of the GQF racks to create V's that hold the goose eggs on their sides. Let me go pull that rack and show you a picture. Thanks, Celtic. I'll rig something up so they can be on their sides in the turner then.
