good morning everyone, cold here this morn

Good Morning. It was snowing here earlier (very pretty) - now SLEET - NOT SO NICE.. I am still worried about loosing electricity. Last I checked it was still 30 degrees but the wind is blowing ....

Been thinking and praying for you and yours. Hope things are going as well as possible. What did you end up claiming on the backward swap the other night??

I have never had a marans hatch early. They are usually right on time and I think it's because the shell is a bit thicker.
Thanks! That give me a little hope.

I'm looking forward to tonight whenever I get a chance to join. I'm an accountant, and it's year end week. I'll be here tomorrow working on fixed assets capitalization. I still have project managers that haven't sent me the info to close their project. Sorry, I know that sounds trivial in comparison to all the other issues, but it is frustrating.

By the way, Candace, you are wonderful. I think it is great what you did for Heather. Congrats everyone that received prizes last night. I popped in but had to quickly leave.

that I can hang around tonight.

I got a Keurig for Christmas. At the moment I use it way to much haha. My mom, dad, and grandpa all have them so I would use theirs when I visited (mom and dad live in VT so I don't see them much, but grandpa lives an hour away) my favorite is Dark Magic... I have a couple pounds of it in whole beans, so I have to by one of those kcups that you add your own grind to

I'm going to try my hand at shipping chicks for the first time. I am wanting to send roughly 9 serama, 4 silkies and 4 sebrights. They are between 2-4 weeks old. None are very big birds. I was wondering if I could fit them in a box - Measurements- 20" x 8" x 16" . I know I need a 72 hour heat pack but where do I put it - yes I know IN THE BOX but where in the box??
The information on the box just said no more than 10 pounds of chickens.

Put it under the mat in the box. I've shipped older birds before but next year will be my first time shipping day old chicks. Quite a scary thought.

Wow! I may have to drag out the Christmas bonus. Oh, wait. I need that for the coops for the eggs already coming. Is it time to go back to moonlighting as a waitress to pay for my chicken addiction? (Best paying job I've ever held, by the way. Just say, "Sugar,..." in a Southern accent to single guys in California and the bills come out like singles in a strip joint.

Very Good Night - I offered more for the pair of birds I got from PapaBrooder, but I really wanted them. I am hoping for eggs in early spring. I got eggs too, but couldn't tell you without looking at my list what I got. I know I'm going to have so many new varieties, I'm gonna need to come up with a way to keep them "labeled"
