Hey Krafty...........gonna box and ship you eggs Sat....expect them Monday (wish I could cramp a goose in the box too LOL - kidding -- sorta)

on the subject of shipping regulations.

I propose that in order to swap people should have their state listed for their location so that we can catch if there will be a problem shipping to them.
I didn't have mine listed, so no one knew to tell me that shipping to Virginia was a problem. and I had no idea!

now I am looking at having to forfeit out of several swaps and am bummed. But I certainly don't want to get anyone in trouble.

I see that others have mentioned ways to get around having to forfeit, but if you've got a few claims that really can't ship to VA, see about side-swapping with someone else rather than forfeiting. In other words, if you claimed something I wanted, I'll send you PP, and you have them send me the eggs! No loss to you, as you can use the PP for eggs you can get shipped to you.

I know that having eggs shipped to a different person has been frowned upon, but in these circumstances I think it should be allowable. You shouldn't have to just forfeit!

I claimed eggs for someone else on the swap recently as they had been trying all day for them and right after they signed out they came available.........its called kharma and passing it forward

IF ANYONE thinks I owe them some eggs and have not gotten them.... let me know... I TRY to keep up but I may have missed something. If you have not heard from me and I owe you eggs, let me know PLEASE! I don't have any right now, but I will get them out as soon as I get your claim I PROMISE!

Other than Spring swaps I am pretty caught up. I send 3 out yesterday and I will send you your DC when I get on the road... it works better on my cell... it fills in all the numbers for me LOL . 1 going out today and I think 2-3 going out next week. I checked on KYT's spreadsheet and so far I can't tell if I missed anything but that was only current to 12-13-2012. LOVE that spreadsheet

and KYT for making all the great SS for everyone to help keep us all straight

I have learned so much from ya'll.
I can't wait to get my first swap-eggs in the mail!

Since I'm in the beginning stages of the incubating and chicken addiction, it's helpful in setting everything up.

My Mr just "donated" his 6x8 open trailer to the chickens...I think I'm gonna turn it into an outdoor brooder. Not positive though.

Sew I dont brood in the house....we have a separate building for it and so glad the babies are out of the house. they hatch and then kept inside in the office in a brooder for 2 days. The GET out is in order. They get big stalls though with heat and water and room to play.

Anyone have a salmon Faverolle rooster they don't need?

I think I'm going to get away with it!! I put the faverolles in one isolation pen, and the BCM in a pen where I keep the quail. I think he saw it, but didn't say anything because he assumed I already had it. Then I casually mentione you have me a chicken, in trade for a bunch of chicks (neglecting to say I just picked up extra chicks to give to you )
So I think I'm in the clear.
Problem is, I saw someone on CL who has frizzled Cochins for sale... How do I sneak more of those in???
