Celtic... I need to know how to process the Muscovy. Is there a good site for info?

So this is my first time hatching. I have three eggs that look like they are ready.
but I have a second set that are about a week behind.
so nervous...but I only have the one incubator.
so trying to figure out how I can hatch them but not screw up the other ones.

was thinking about pulling them out and putting them under a broody hen.
but I am chancing that she won't take to them if I do that. but if she does then they will have a real mom.

but after the first broody abandoned them and these are the ones that lived, I am hesitant to do that. I have become attached to eggs.

Is it three days before hatch day that you lock them down?

I had the same thing happen to me and ended up building a 2nd cooler bator to use as a hatcher. It only took a few hours and worked great.

At the end of day 18 is when the eggs go into lockdown.

my little blue silkie went broody last week I gave her a few eggs. Needless to say the test of the lav orps and blue coppers is official! they are all growing with Ms Blue. This is her first broodiness for me. I bought her and they said she was about 7-9 months old. ( she was in with a bunch of others and that is the estimated age for the whole group). Well she has been a laying machine since I brought her home and we have some of her babies too.
SO, I will be starting collecting and going down the list of those that claimed lav orp eggs for spring. So you may get your eggs before spring!
ALSO, my porcelain silkie, Priscilla aka Prissy! FINALLY laid her first egg! she is ONLY 14 months!!!!! Talk about late bloomer! and today when she laid her second egg the WHOLE farm heard about it!

she squaked and carried on like no one's business and announcing the Priss has laid. it was so funny.

and 4 BCM from Aye Up.

The meat bird section here on BYC is the best source for info. Scald, pluck, pluck, pluck or Skin and no pluck pluck pluck is the short answer.
