how far apart do you all space the legs with the tape?
I did it about the normal distance between the legs when the chick is standing typically and then a tiny bit extra. So, in my poult, it was maybe 1 1/2 inches or so. I had my roommate hold him and then I tape the legs roughly so they were set straight and then added a little give. The one thing that freaked me out a little bit is that he cannot get up off his back with his legs hobbled (I know, duh, right). So when he was learning, he kept tipping over on his back and couldn't get back up and it broke my heart. I just set him upright every time I saw that happened and he learned to walk by himself in about a day. Still can't get up off his back, but I think we will once I take the tape off.

Aww, shucks, thanks guys! I'm glad you like the candles! :D

I've been having it rough with shipped eggs as well. I'm averaging one chick per shipment! Yeesh. And, the odd thing is that eggs from January and ealier this winter were pretty good hatching!

Really find it hard to believe no one has snatched up those duck eggs!!!
Hint hint, SFH on RBA.

Awesome! How was the egg color that they hatched from?
That is a breed I am considering investing serious money into, but I haven't found any hatching eggs, and it seems like any US stock isn't laying the "plum" colored eggs they are really supposed to.

They were pinkish...there was pink all over the foam too. So they might have been more plum at lay. Here's the ebay link for pictures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-CROAD...016?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2ae77bd0
