Quote: turkeys in general, IMO...I have owned several breeds and find them all to be friendly and alert, and will let you know when anything is strange in their area...my turkeys are great watchdogs, even going so far as to chasing this lady that walks every day around the neighborhood, down the street, just a fussin'! Well, when they aren't penned up for breeding season that is....

Noon postal guarantee has come and gone now. Tracking says just that they left cleaveland and nothing else. Called the inspector general to inform that rain, sleet or snow I fully expect they will personally find my birds and deliver them to me tonight. He had they gall to ask me I would give permission for the staff in Tennessee to give them food and water. Ummmmm.......let me think about that a minute....... I told him that was a violation of about 5 postal codes and he said he was not really familiar with all the postal regulations. Hmmmmmm.... I am thinking that I wish the police was not that familiar with the speed limit. It is amazing how govermental agency's get to pick and choose.

How many of you are familiar with faverolles?

I'm trying to clear up a mystery. I will post pics this evening if you're interested. I got some faverolles in a side swap here. Three of them hatched. Of those three, one has the typical reddish brown and creamy coloring. The other two are feathering in completely white.

I've tried reading up on it, but I'm not finding much info except that sometimes a white can pop up. If so, I don't know if I will be selling offspring as whites or if the salmon will also pop back in.

Anyone know much about these?

Yesterday was a bit of a bad day for me, although it ended on a better note. My 2.5 year old Ford Escape Hybrid had its break system go out on Friday. It's a new car with low miles. Turns out that even though this is a known defect, it is not covered under warranty or recall and will cost around 7k. I am absolutely floored that it is in the realm of possibility that you would need to pay that much money for a repair on a new car. I don't know what I am going to do about it either. This is the first time I have bought a nice, newer car for myself. I am kinda heartbroken about it.

I do have chicks hatching and chicken love to tide me over for now, and have been pretty chipper about life in general. Four chicks hatched and a few more working on it. I will see where we are at when I get home. Feeling a bit irritated right now about shady dealers though

Wow, is all I can say. I've always heard hybrids are expensive to maintain or fix.

See now I solved that feeling by going and having another kid. Older son is now thirty, younger is nine. Crap I'm old! But I have fun like a kid. Good Morning Chicken lovers! Today is the day. My first born is now 18!
