Here, here! I was thrilled when my youngest started school, and I went back to work part-time. I got to work around people who could talk in complete sentences, who picked up after themselves, and didn't whine about what they had for lunch. It was awesome!
Well, I guess the people I worked with could form complete sentences anyways, or at least most could. LOL! And that was the office job I had! My personal care job was awesome until the office started falling apart. They'd get cancellations and never tell me, often 2/3 jobs for the day would be cancelled and they'd never bother to tell me! The last straw was when I sprained my ankle. I had a 12 hour shift the next day... I called them a good 18 hours before my shift and said I'd give it my best, but please have someone on backup just in case it became too much for me. I called when it got to be too much and asked if they could send a replacement. They said I needed to have an appointment to leave. I made an appt for 2 hours later and told the office. An hour and a half later they said they couldn't get ahold of anyone. It finally got to the point that I was in tears from pain and wasn't in any shape to be working for a client. I called back and said "please get the backup from the office here within half an hour, because that's how much time you have before I leave". She finally came, I got xrays and crutches and the company coordinator came to watch me open the heavy doors and go up/down the steps in crutches.... DESPITE having my ER note, a black and purple ankle twice the size of normal...
