I help out with my friends chickens. This past Thursday, I noticed the chicken that has been staying in the barn was not acting, herself. By Friday morning she was laying on her side not moving. I thought she was dead as she was laying on her side with her legs straight out. When I move her she squawked...and was moving, as of today 7/21/2013, she is not able to lift her head. I picked her up and tried to feed her water, but I'm not sure she got any. I pretty sure she is not going to be around much longer, but would like to find out what the cause could be, so that we can prevent this from happening to any more. The rest of the flock are in a hen house, but do come into the barn when they are let out. Just trying to learn as much as I can. Please, does anyone have any idea what is wrong, and what can be done!! Thanks
