Heat lamp or heat pad?

I've done lamps and plate. For small amounts of chicks (<12), I prefer the plate, and a small (4x6) brooder box. For larger numbers of chicks, I like lamps and a larger brooder (5x12)

Are you able to regulate the heat pad?
Make sure the chicks can move off the pad to be cooler and not burn their feet. Regulating the heat source is very important.

Yes there are heat pads that can be regulated AND have the no switch off function.

To link articles or threads....
Open the article or thread and right click the address bar up top then click copy. Go to the place you want to link it to, right click in the reply box and click paste.

On my kindle I don't have right click lol. It is just touch and hold to get the option to copy. Then go to where you are linking it to and touch and hold to get the paste option.

I think it is the same way on smartypants phones too....I don't have one of those.
