Help! Air cell’s too small but duckling’s still Alive trying to pip!

Beautiful! Give her a day or two. With a fat belly like it was, it sometimes takes them a little extra time to get their legs moving correctly.
I use puppy pads for the first few days also, but if you can add an old wash cloth or something it can get more grip on would be good.
(I bought 4 cheapo dollar store kitchen wash rags for like $1, rinse and reuse for my ducklings)
Hopefully it sorts itself out then! I’ll get a a wash cloth as well if it had better grip. She is quite chubby lol, and in contrast her tiny head looks low key funny!

Apparently I missed a whole page while replying
You already have their help
It’s been a long 3 weeks for me with not much sleep lol
I think she looks okay the puppy pads don’t have grip and babies can take a bit to stand and walk without the feet slipping
That’s alright it happens! I’ve been so tired today since staying up all night checking on the duckling - being sick doesn’t make it any more easier either lol, so I said I’d send pictures and dropped off back to sleep only to wake up and remember I hadn’t done that yet! And yeah I’ll get something with more of a grip tomorrow for her!

Bad news though… I think the other egg died, the veins completely disappeared :( it looked so good just a couple of hours ago too, it’s shocking how quickly things changed, I wonder if it’s because it was so far behind

With her big yolk belly she will be wobbly lol
I used that shelf liner that’s like a soft rubber in my bator and on the puppy pads for a day or two. After that I remove them
It gives them grip to not slide
That or wash cloths will really help her

I don’t have that but I’ll use cloths instead! I put in a small one for her under the heater and I’ll be getting her a larger one for the remaining areas too!

I'm sorry about the other duckling in the egg:( did you candle?
Yeah, no movement and now no veins - at least one duckling hatched though! That’s alright for me, I’m hoping it’s a girl as well but if it’s a boy, since I have two girls already I think I should be good! My friend is disappointed though, she was pretty excited about getting ducklings even if it wasn’t preplanned

How’s the little one doing this evening?
Sleeping quite a lot actually, I’ve kept the duckling separate for the time being from the other two, they’ve seen each other briefly but my two girls are quite boisterous and tried to peck the little one and clamber over, and since its legs are still a bit off I thought I best wait till the naval and legs sort itself out before they get together. The duckling spends most of its time under the heat sleeping as quiet as a mouse - its personality is the polar opposite of the two girls when they’d hatched lol. From the moment they moved into the brooder, they spent more time sitting on top of the heater than under, being little parkour ducklings and were incredibly vocal. I haven’t gotten the chance to see him walk because he just shuffles into any nook it finds when I take him out rather than running to me, or jumps instead of walking.
