I don't know either.do you have empty egg carton?if you do cut lid off carton and place eggs in bottom half carton big end facing up.keep them under light in carton.

Just because the curiosity would be killing me, I'd be tempted to just pick off the loose little bits of shell at the pip- not make the hole bigger at this point, just see if I could see the beak and any movement. I'd use a pin or something, just gentle. Your call, though!

Yeah a bit of the shell came off when i use a paper towel to dampen the egg. I read its important to keep the egg damp.

So the membrane doesnt shink or something. Well i can see no movement or hear anything much.

Yes, but water is not the best thing to use, it'll dry right back up. I tiny bit of coconut oil or vaseline or antibiotic ointment work much better.

Did you read this article......some good info in there even if you don't actually 'assist'.

Damp towels or misting/moistening the eggs is counter-productive. It actually draws moisture from inside the shell as it evaporates.

If the pip was not in the air cell, it could take an *extra* 24 hours to zip. Usually they are internally in the air cell for 12-24 hours, then externally pipped for 12-24 hours. So if the internal step was skipped, it may need extra time to absorb.
