Help! Chick with rye neck!

Also, be very careful you don't overfill the chick's crop. No more than 5ml at a time. Feel the crop after you give her around a teaspoon of food or water. That should be gone before you try to push any more into her crop.

Until she can eat and drink on her own, you will need to get a little water down her every couple of hours. And you'll need to feed her food several times a day.

Hopefully, the E will kick in and she will recover soon. If she doesn't respond to the E after two days, even a little improvement, she probably has brain damage.

UPDATE: He is still alive! When I dipped his beak in water this morning he pulled his head up by himself. He also pooped. It was green and white and smelled bad. I don't want to be optimistic, but he is acting better. And when I checked on him just now he stood up.

That's great news! I do believe this chick is going to make it. Keep up the feedings, and you can add a little sugar to it to elevate the chick's glucose. If you can get out, locate a feed store that sells Poultry Nutri-drench. You can add that to the chick's water and it will further boost its energy and organ functions.

All the food I have been giving him(I say him because I want this one to be a boy, and saying it or they feels weird.) is crushed up sunflower seeds, chick food in water, and the oil. Are you saying I should give him an oil capsule with egg multiple times a day?

Egg has selenium in it, also fats. Both assist the chick's body in absorbing the vitamin E oil into its fatty tissues so it can be fully utilized. You can continue to feed the other stuff, but giving the egg with the E oil will assure it's being taken up by the chick's body.

Be sure the sunflower seeds are a paste or else they may cause the chick to be constipated since it's not getting grit at this moment. He shouldn't have a problem with the chick feed.

UPDATE: He has been drinking a very little bit on his own(meaning I offer him water and he takes a little bit). Also, standing on his own when we are not there. Although his head is still crooked.
