Help!! Chicken with sprained or broken neck!! Help!!!

Brownie is a very lucky rooster, and you are so attentive to his needs. The sling looks good, and yes a poop hole is pretty important, LOL. I would make sure that his feet can touch the floor, and take him out often to stretch and sleep.
I would try feeding some watery chicken feed or KayTee baby bird feed in addition to the egg. Keep up the good work.

A lot of people do report that chickens will try to get out of slings, and end up tangling or hanging in them. It is good to observe them, and it can be good to think about a strap or something over the back to restrain a vety active bird.
Brownie looks pretty weak right now though, he seems to enjoy all of his attention. I have never had to use a sling so far, so can only go by other’s experience.

BROWNIE UPDATE: He is sitting happily in his sling. We were away at a amusement park for the day, and I just gave him a bunch of water and egg yolk, and I came home and he drank a bunch and then just wouldn't drink anymore. By the end of the feeding session, I was forcing water cause he had not have much for the whole day. How much water and or food should he have all day? We are leaving for St. Louis for the weekend, and nobody can watch him. Would he be OK for a day and a half without food or water? Cause we cannot find anyone to watch him, and we cannot take him. Do you think he would be OK for a day and a half?

You can't force more than his crop will hold or you risk aspirating him.

What volume of feed and water have you given him in the last 24 hours?
How much and what kind of poops is he producing?

I don't think he should go more than a few hours without at least drinking in his highly compromised condition.

Truth be told if he cannot move his neck at all by now I'm not sure he ever will,
and it might be time to euthanize if you can't nurse him over the weekend.

Maybe other will have more experienced suggestions.
