And I did see an open eye through the hole one egg although that doesn't necessarily mean it's alive now it does mean at least at some point in time it was to open the eye just be patient and more importantly it had to be at the time he was making a hole patience little grasshopper

Relaxing is so hard I feel like I'm waiting at the hospital for someone to give birth lol! Going to be going out for dinner hoping to take my mind off it! I don't have a way to measure the humidity just a plain styrofoam incubator the water is full

Unfortunately they dont always hatch. Even when you do everything right. Is your bator a little giant? That's what I had and I had a hell of a time keeping the humidity up even with a warm mist humidifier in the room. But I didn't resist the urge to get in there and take action. Of 12 eggs 10 tried to hatch, 2 got out on their own 3 I help out (2 of the 3 had deformities due to my assistance and the other died within 24 hr) and the rest pipped and died. After that I vowed I'd never use a bator again and ordered buff orpingtons from meyer. Those girls are so contagiously broody they had my maran and polish hens hatching eggs. Now the hens can be over dedicated and not want to get off the nest at all but in just take them for a bathroom break a few times a day and put food and water in with them so they dont starve or dehydrate. I've never had any issues with the hens hatching. Matter a fact they always hatch early, which is great cuz I'm so impatient when it comes to meeting my new lovelys. Sorry this has been a rough one. My ladies are dieing to hatch we could make you some chickys if things dont go well.

Thank you! We have one hen right now she's still young and isn't broody at all we are hoping for some late Hatcher's over the weekend if nothing we will try again and buy a egg Turner and humidity reader. My goal eventually is to have a nice little farm to sustain our family I wanna get this right
