Have you offered him some sugar water or any electrolytes? Hatching is hard work and really drains them.

Sadly sometimes they just don't make it in spite of our efforts. No matter the outcome, I hope you realize that you did everything you could do.

He is still the same. He can't drink or eat on his own. When I leave the house, no one is there to help him. He may die while I'm gone.

Sorry, the post was wrong. He actually had never made a crack in the egg in the first place. I helped him by opening it a little bit. Should I have never opened it? And let it die in the egg?

No, I think its really great that you helped. Sometimes assisted chicks just fail to thrive. More often, assisted chicks just need help, and do fine in the long run.
