Also, if you can’t find electrolytes, maybe use a few drops of sugar water. But, not too much they would get diarrhea witch could lead to pasty butt. Just a suggestion.

Thanks! I wish I had known about that when I hatched out my last batch at home, I had two deaths that may have been prevented by the electrolytes, but didn’t know about them. I ordered some after reading up and have them on hand now, as soon as I can set up the waterer they are going in!

I have also raised the heater plate and they are now all under it, rather than crashed around it. They are mostly sleeping in normal looking positions as well rather than laying flat out like they were at the last ferry stop. I’m worried they might be a little too cool, but they look peaceful and comfy

I put ACV in the water for all new chicks, seems to prevent pasty butt. I also ferment their feed; firmer poop, less poop & no stink except the cecal I've been told overkill with fermented feeding & ACV in the water, I do stop the ACV in the water after a month.
