Help Needed: Potbelly Piglet with Skin Issue (full body)

So just today I adopted a very cute little Blue & White male Potbelly piglet(neutered). He is about 3 months old & around 10lbs right now. He's already using the newspaper to potty on and is LOVING his cozy little sleeping crate & blankies. His name is Zeus.

He came form a rescue situation and when I adopted him, the rescuer let me know about the skin problem but she thought it was likely caused from all the moisture at their property because he didn't have it before. Some other people had adopted piglets from the same "litter" and the skin cleared right up with either a bath or Neosporin. SOOOO.... Zeus is one greased piggy right now! he was the worst in the 3 that were left but i couldn't resist the blue baby

So does anyone have any experience with this kinda thing??
know what it could be? cause?
best method of treatment?

It looks like flaky dry skin scale, am I looking at the wrong thing?
My mom always rubbed her potbelly pig down with olive oil or cocoanut oil to prevent dry skin.

He needs an ivermectin injection. Looks like Mites, VERY VERY common in potbellies. Once he gets ivermectin injection, he will grow in alot more hair then he has now, and it will likley be all black. They can overcome this once they are out of stressfull situations but they need ivermectin injection for deworming anyways.

You might be wise to try a homemade soap, i know there is someone on here that sells soap sometimes, my mom has a soap company and we have some all natural soaps that have oat meal, and a mixture of oils in them that really make skin soft (we don't use lotion in our house! lol) Im not trying to make a sale, i just think it might help with the skin!

His hair is actually very thick on the sides of his body & his "cheeks". it's thin along his back, head & all around his rump where he has rubbed really Bad. He's still trying to scratch on stuff in the bedroom but the skin flakes are falling off constantly now, I just had to change his blanket. It's VERY thick on his rump, i assume from scratching so much on stuff. The Neosporin is still pretty greasy on his head but his rump area is dry again.. like that bad skin just soaked it right in..

The previous owner, that rescued all the pigs, treated them with a medicine for mites.. "something"mectin.. I asked her but waiting to hear back. so the mites should be gone if there were any. he's been wormed too so it's just down to the skin thing now...

I don't know if they do this for pigs but usually you want to do 2 Ivomec injections 14 days apart for mites.

Also, there is a "cream" called Nu-Stock. If you google Nu-Stock it should come up. Works great on all kinds of skin problems.

I gave him a bath earlier today and nearly ALL of that dry skin just came right off. there's just a little left on his tail & along his spine. I did use a scrubby brush when i washed him.. he LOVED it! and then I brushed him after the bath. he slept for a looong time afterward, lol. He screamed like a banshee but I think he was happy about feeling cleaner.

He may just have had dry skin.. PBP's are very prone to that.
Alot of folks spray them down with lotion or something to help it. I dont do it for mine though. Which i probably should.. but their skin seems okay right now.
Keep an eye on it.. if it doesnt get better soon.. you'll have to have a vet out to check him out. He may have mites.
Also..if he was kept wet at the last place he could have a fungal infection... he'll need meds from thr vet for that.

Theres actually a spray that you can buy for their skin... it smells sooo good! I have a bottle.. i'll dig it out and get back to you asap!

Mange (mites) is very common in PB pigs.
