Help! One of my hens has a swollen eye. What do I do?

My dad got some 3cc syringes and 6cc ones today. I am going to make the saline as soon as I can and flush/rinse Turkeys eye and then try to give her some nutri-drench.
She has been opening her eye a lot the last few days, but I believe she can't see out of it still (I have only seen her eye open from afar yesterday and today. She's been a lot more skittish of me, she is feeling better) she has been eating and drinking on her own although I think she has mostly been eating bugs, plants, etc. Whatever she finds whilst foraging. She hangs out with the rest of the flock for the most part but is wary of the rooster and some of the other hens. I will get pictures of her eyelid and eye before and after I flush/rinse it.
...........

QUESTIONS.
1.
if I didn't have the syringes what would work in place of them for flushing/rinsing her eye?
2. Would an old jelly jar be okay to hold the saline in? After putting really hot water and stuff in it first and making sure it's clean?
3. Where should I put/store the saline after its made?
4. Do you have any tips on how to wrap her in a towel?

............

I appreciate all the advice given! Thank you!

I forgot to ask this question in the previous post.
Should I clean the syringe at all? They are of course in sealed individual packaging but still want to make sure.

Attached below are the 3ML/CC syringes which I am going to use for the nutridrench.

Should I stir the salt in the water?
And when exactly do you add the salt to the water or does it matter? And what tempt (it should room tempt right?) should the saline be when using it for her eye?
Oh, and I have been forgetting to mention this but she doesn't seem to be having a hard time breathing anymore at least from what I can tell.
When I rinse her eye and everything else I will pay attention to her breathing.

I poured one cup of water in the saucepan and added the 1/2 tsp of salt and then turned on the heat and let it boil for 15 minutes and it is now cooling down. The salt hasn't completely dissolved did I do it right?
I looked some ways to make saline solution and some of the things said to boil the water first and then add the salt and stir to dissolve it.
Before using it should I make sure all the salt is dissolved?

Yes, you should stir the solution so the salt dissolves. Let it cool to room temperature before using it.
It doesn't matter when you put the salt in.

If the package on the syringes are sealed, then those are sterile, or at least the ones you have in the photo are labeled as sterile. Once you use them, then yes, I would rinse really well after using them if you are going to re-use them.

Yes, I think the clean glass jelly jar will be just fine to hold the saline for 24hrs. I would put it in the fridge to help the solution to stay stable.

If you didn't have syringes, then you could carefully pour the saline in the eye, you could dip a qtip in the solution and drip it into the eye or put the saline on a clean cloth and drip and wipe the eye.

How to wrap in a towel. Drape the towel over her back and just wrap it around her, where it holds her wings closed. Sort of like you would wrap a baby in a blanket or towel. Not too tight, just swaddle or snuggle her. Do monitor her breathing and see that she's doing ok. Any time you need to stop and give her or yourself a break, that is just fine. Go slow, talk to her.

I decided not to use what I made mostly cause the majority of the water evaporated and the salt hadn't dissolved. Tomorrow I am going to make the saline solution and make sure I do it all properly and then once I clean her eye I will try and give her some nutri-drench.
I got pictures of her eye tonight.

Here are the pictures of her eye.

I hope these are good enough.
Her eye looks kind of grey but I think I can see her pupil and iris, I am hoping that she will be able to see out of her eye still.

With 1 cup of water, it would evaporate more quickly. I would use 2 cups bring to a boil, then let simmer as suggested previously by @Eggcessive
You're doing fine.
She may have lost her eye, it's still hard to tell, but the pus/yellow gunk needs to be wiped out tomorrow, the saline will help with that. I would keep putting the terramycin in the eye too. Even if the eye is lost and she's blind, it can get infected until it heals.

Okay, thank you!
I will try to get a better pictures tomorrow. It being dark made it harder to get decent pictures of her eye. I am not sure if there is any pus in her eye still or not it's hard to tell what is what though.
