I have a duckling that started to hatch yesterday and I unfortunately interviened, which I am regretting now. It's completely seperated from its shell except for one tiny stand that is still attached to the shell. It's been out of the shell since early this morning and is not yet dried off or fluffed up and has been squeaking or whining all day. It is also shaking fairly consistently with sudden jerks every so often.

The other eggs have just started to externally pip so this one is quite a bit earlier then the rest. Should I just keep it in the incubator or move it to the brooder? And should I do something with the string still attached to the shell?

Also, I've tried removing water to lower the humidity which is currently @ 85%, but nothing seems to be working to get it down. And suggestions for that?

This is my first time incubating duck eggs and any help is greatly appreciated.

I would not! It may be needed for a little while!
Trust me, it's okay. As long as there are no veins, it can, and should be cut. If not cut, the chick/duckling could get it caught on something and rip its intestines out.
