Help - Sick Jumbo Pekin Duck

Oh man, now I feel like a bad duck Mom :( going to TSC now!!
You don't have feel like you are bad. We all make mistakes!

You can still use the other feed if you can supplement with the niacin correctly. The Jumbo Pekin grows so fast they are often the first to show symptoms.

Just do your best now!

Maybe someone will know how to get that duckling back on track more quickly... I'm mostly useless in that area. :fl

I assume the all flock feed will be okay for a chicken too? I have a duck that lives with two chickens because of her injured leg so I’d like to make sure she is on the correct diet as well!
Not 100% sure about the Guineas... but I feed this to ALL my chickens ALL their life. Parent stock, hatchlings, roosters, layers with OS on the side for them.

Thank you everybody! TSC was out of the big bags of the feed you recommended so I grabbed a small bag to start the sick duck, I call her Georgie, on as well as Sam the injured cayuga. I will be going Monday to buy some big bags to switch the rest of the duck flock over! I also got liquid vitamin B and started her on it tonight.

I really appreciate everyones help!! :hugs:love

Yes I just realized it is flush free... that is the wrong kind from what I’ve read, correct? :th

They are on Dumour Chick Starter.

I don’t see any swelling or sores on her legs/feet. All the other ducks are still fine as well
Yep that is the wrong kind. But at least it makes sense as to why you may not be seeing improvement! If you are giving them 1mL of niacin a day, you can still give them the dumor until the bag is finished. Or however is convenient for you. Now they are on track! And by the way, when my ducks were growing up, I had no idea what niacin was! So you are farther along than me!

Sometimes depending on nutrient deficient water supply it can cause thier tear ducts to clog up w air bubbles in them which can cause thier eyes to dry ourt/get itchy/red
