Yes, they may peck at glass. I would go over the area again juest to make sure you got it all. I live on an old farm where people have thrown away old broken bottles and dishes for 110 years, and I have to collect small pieces of glass near my coop in a coffee can. Every year more works up to the surface.

THIS! So much of this on Mars. I till the dirt and actively look for shards and bits, but it is always coming to the surface after a heavy rain - like little diamonds strewn out across the field. I've been repeatedly going over the areas where I want my girls to range so that in the spring when it is ready it will be at least sorta-safer-kinda-maybe-I-Hope.

I worry so much about their feet uncovering something I missed or that migrated upwards through the soil.

My chickens just moved into their new coop about 5 days ago and I noticed one tried to eat a nail/staple yesterday and I'm worried one may have eatin one already. I used a magnet but I guess I didn't get them all. Can someone please help me and tell me what signs to look for if any of them did swallow one. Here is a picture of what it looks like. Is it possible they could digest this? I'm so scared something could happen. I love them so much.

Oh, they will. I've been picking up stuff where my chicken run and yard are for years, it used to be my garden area. I find something new to pick up almost every day, and the chickens have been there for 2 1/2 years already. I try not to worry about it, just pick up what I find and go on with the day. Oh, and then there's the stuff that the squirrels and jays and crows drop, it's never-ending. We can only do the best we can.
