I like coconut oil for short assists, but personally I prefer Vaseline for longer ones. It’s seems to stay moist longer, and doesn’t let the membrane get as stiff.

His veins have dried up and it looks like his yolk is drying and hardening around him. What do I do

I only have 2, they’re both shrink wrapped and the other one seems to be in the right place and chirping. He’s closer to being free than this one is

I’m starting to worry, I’ve started removing shell and membrane and he’s not reacting much to it I also still haven’t found his face

I'm not sure. I've never had to deal with removing eggshell from a malpositioned chick, or duckling. Usually all my malpositioned birds hatched without issue, except one.
