Hen or roo?

Of my 2 black copper marans, one is clearly a roo. They're both the same age, but the other one I'm struggling with. Not crowing, not as red or comby, not as big, but tail feathers seem long.

What do I have?!

Yeah, those long pointy streamer like feathers are called saddle feathers and are male specific.

Definitely a cockerel. He has pointed saddle and hackle feathers, as @Mr Beaks said, only males have that feathering. He also has red across his shoulders which is an only male trait in many breeds and mixes.
