Hen With Foot Growth (not bumble foot)

So the video is more telling... that section looks like a completely rounded ball. Seeing now that’s its actually flattened on one side I do believe it’s a callous. The way her skin is colored makes quite the illusion.

I have a hen that had a bumble on her pad and from walking on it made a weird folded section. I would tell you to keep an eye on the pocket created. It will collect dirt and mud.

I’ll try to get pictures of my weird hen foot tomorrow.

Foot foot foot pics.

@staceyj
I just got finished rolling meatballs!!!!

I’m shaking my head.
Gonna have to think on this.

OP, when you lift it up, how does it look attached? Does it look like a fold of skin? Or less?
Does it look like it’s always been there, (just a normal abnormality) and just de-scaled like @Redhead Rae said? Her tongue on the light pole theory?
It could have been just a case of freezerburn from the pole, where the outer layer of skin got damaged but now it’s peeled off......

If you pinch it gently between your fingers does it feel the same as her foot pad, or different?
...meaning softer, squishy, harder, lumpy inside etc?

I wonder if you could use insulation foam wrapped in duct tape on that pole to keep that covered?

So many thoughts!

Thanks for not leaving us old ladies hanging!!!!

Looks a lot better than expected! I have never seen anything like that! Does she seem to be in any pain?...
Not at all. I'm pretty sure that it is a callus. I put son anti bacterial cream on it an wrapped it loosely in gauze and vet wrap. I'll be keeping an eye on it for the next few days.

It feels slightly harder than her pad but is directly attached to her skin I am almost positive now that it is a callous.

Just looks like a weird foot pad anomaly...I see no reason for any treatment at this time.
Just keep an eye on it.
Could have been caused by and old wound that wasn't unnoticed and healed on it own.
The video really helped, Good Job!

Nunny you make an excellent point here!!!!!

I'll put up pictures of my hen with a weird foot pad. Hers being all yellow it doesn't have the illusion of being rounded. But it did have a bumble at point and I think that's what caused it to sort of fold over.
Now I have to pull mud and poo out of the little pocket made between the pad and the webbing of her toes. Better then a bumble though.
