I totally didn't think of that! That sound pretty close to what probably happened. If it is, what would you suggest the treatment to be?

How cold has it been where the chickens are? A metal pole does not a good roostbar make...

Could also be a problem if her feet were wet in any way. Metal is a great heatsink. Think of A Christmas Story when the kid sticks his tongue to the flag pole. Even just damp fingers on an ice cube sticks.

When you get home on Wednesday...
Blister eventually reduce on their own if it doesn't break.
Soaking her foot in warm Epsom salt water will help soothe the blister and draw out any infection. You don't want infection to set in because it could develop into staph....which can then become bumble foot.
You can also use Neosporine and a foot bandage until the blister is re-absorbed.

Sorry for the wait. I had a bit of a late start this morning. I live in British Columbia so it has been pretty wet and cold here recently. The metal pole isnt her roost she just got in th habit of using it as one. We have been moving them inside every night so that they stay warm. I am soaking her foot and you will have some new photos soon.
