Hens Crop Not Empting at Night Please help

i think the medication route is your best option from what ive read it seems the baking soda is good to nutrilize and to pass through blockages but not sure any prolonged use would be benefitial. this sour crop is a long hard slog of a journey! if theres a fungal infection then fungal meds are needed . i had a time of getting thrush myself which kept reocuring (sorry for over sharing!) my point however is the doctor prescribed a six month course of meds. so it seems long term treatment for these types of infection are sometimes needed. my advice would be not to discontinue use of meds when you see improvements but keep the meds going until shes well and truley clear of infection. id say a good week after she appears recovered. just my opinion for what its worth x

I have a tube of Clotrimazole I'm going to try. I had to vomit her last night, she was so uncomfortable and the smell was bad. I then gave her the anti-fungal cream.

perfect to empty then get the meds in there . gives the meds a much easier environment to work with. thats the meds i had (for myself) and its stonger than the other so i was told . normally its given as a one off tablet rather than a course. have you got a doseage for it?

I found out I can get Fluconazole over the counter. The only problem is she can have 5mg once a daily. I have to figure how to take a pill and divide that up. I found an excellent link on meds for chickens and how much to give.

How much does she weigh? The info I just read said that the minimum dose in birds is 5mg/kg. That info is from the Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook. I'll post some pictures of the dosing info as soon as I can move from this iPad to the computer.
