The shipper thinks her roo was infertile from molting. So she is sending me a refund which is really nice of her. I actually ordered chicks and they will be here this week so I an excited to have more babies. I ordered the "adopt me" special from Meyer so they could be LF, bantam or even turkeys. We will see.

Hey, keep us posted on what you get from Meyer. I was curious about that mix myself....

2 Euskal Oiloa Basque
2 unknown Sussex
2 olive eggers
1 sizzle
1 Lav Cochin

Also I'm setting a dozen of my own eggs

Heritage Rhode island red hen x Euskal Oiloa Basque roo
Golden sex link hen x Euskal Oiloa Basque roo

This is my 3 ever hatch. Second one didn't count because the shipped eggs were in my mail box frying for 4 days in July!

I'm hoping for a good hatch!

Wow. Lucky you. Most shippers will not do that. Glad to hear you will be getting some chicks after all. Turkeys!! oh my.

Welcome to the group. You have quite a mix there. You may want to join this hatch -a- long so that your chicks hatch at the same time as everyone elses. This thread is coming to an end as most of us have hatched our eggs in the past few days.

Three little baby bantam cochins. They will be mottled when the grow up.


Here my DH's big ol' hand for perspective. These tiny chicks are adorable. It is hard to believe that these little fur balls were inside an egg shell yesterday!

These chicks are as small as my mystery chicks I got at a show. Maybe mine are Cochins. So cute I love the mottling.

You are going to have a very diverse coop. I can't wait to see what all of these look like. Good Luck and you may want to find another hatching forum that has your same dates. I'm not hatching any more but I am going to follow these guys who have taken on more eggs and maybe you can join in with them.
