Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

ADORABLE PICS GUYS! I just love the "first outing" pics! Those babies look well defended for sure. The sister wives are doing a great job! Vicki, that little one is just precious!
I can't figure out how to load the pics here so I guess I'll make one my avi and make a "new babies" folder until I get my puter up n runnin. I'm SOOO in love with my new babies!

Thank You!!! It is just full of its self. I really think that it thinks I am its mother. It is so funny. I am trying to figure out a name for it.

Well, I think I have a plan for my flock, but wonder exactly how risky it is to not lock ducks up at night? Will my ducks herd back to garage at night like my goslings if they do need to be locked up?

We got kiddie pools yesterday for our birds. I put one in the goslings side yard and only the african could figure out how to get into it. I thought about putting a ramp on it, but assume the toulouse will eventually figure it out, considering they are much bigger than the african.
I have to herd my ducks pretty often. In the winter they'll just go in when the light clicks on (they have lights at night to imporve egg laying in winter) but during the summer, they don't want to go in.

Too funny about the goslings and the pool. I guess we know which goose is either a) more intelligent or b) is stornger
Vicki, here is a pic of my sweetie girl Molasses, hatched from Renee's stock with her best friend, Chicory, my toulouse hatched from Erin's stock. She is 3.5 weeks old and loves to crawl into my lap and snuggle. She is so mellow that sometimes I wonder if she's got a stash of valium hidden in her pen.
They are getting so big!
OUR FIRST OUTING!

She is so darn cute!!!

Marty, hard to tell on the intelligence factor of africans vs toulouse, but there are definitely distinct personality differences.

My youngsters are getting big! One of these days, I am going to try to put my Erin toulouse with the other toulouses and put Molasses with Barley. Gotta make room in the brooder room for my next set of goslings! Today is day 26; all 6 have movement, although some look stronger than others. Aircells are dipping. Lockdown is in 48 hours.

Cute pic, Vicki! Gabby looks very sweet!

Sue, thanks!! They have been rocking all day. I did my final weigh in. 4 eggs are on target. 1 lost too much weight and 1 didn't lose enough. Getting my hatcher ready.

Are you finished with your goose hatching? When do your quail start popping out?

done with geese unless Fred abandons her nest.. I'm more worried about her taking care of herself so far ( first year )
