I know Dennis has buff and grey dewlap Toulouse. He has some very nice birds. I've bought several call ducks from him. I'm not sure the prices on his geese but he is at wapsiwaterfowl.com.

So now you know why they can get $25 per egg.

However, Pete is much too polite. I looked at that eBay listing for the $25 goose eggs and even though it is difficult to judge from a photo, I would say those are not good enough quality to show. I would not buy from them.

If you don't want to pay Holderread's prices, there are other serious breeders of Dewlap Toulouse in the USA. You would have to hunt them down, and the geese still won't be cheap, although, perhaps a little less. I've seen some photos of some good looking Toulouse in The Poultry Press, doing some winning. Holderread is not the only source for show geese.

If he won't fill the box with inexpensive ducks, he does sell mixed batches of leftover geese for not much money, so you could buy a pair of Toulouse and then 2-3 of the cheap hatchery choice (probably the pet quality, for that price). Cheap enough to eat them, really.

I called Holderreads and was told their waiting list is so long that they will probably be sold out for this season. Wapsi also replied it has a very long waiting list, but seemed a touch more optimistic they may have some available in the later months.

I thought you were looking at mine... I have Toulouse eggs on there... I wondered if I needed to better pics..I thought maybe mine were bad..

Please do not tempt me like that! I am trying to hold out for giant dewlap toulouse eggs. Plus, I already have 4-5 toulouse eggs growing in my bator. But if I totally strike out on the dewlap and/or have a horrible hatch with my current set and/or fall madly in love with the set that hatches, I'll buy eggs from you.

I don't know, Iain. Can you really too have too many geese? I mean, you need to experiment to find your perdect goose nice......
