Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

By the way, here is a pic of the buff dewlap toulouse stock for the eggs I just bought. As noted in the watermark, ratitemomma is the ebay seller name. They post their phone number in their listing... they are friendly and welcome calls.

If they start developing for you, I might give them a call. My 4-H daughter thinks its great we are finally getting some bid birds. If they ask for an emu, she is SOL however.

Have you guys seen those African red breasted geese? Those are unusual too!

Marty, you know I'll keep you updated every step of the way! They told me they just hatched out 3 of 4 from first group set, so that is pretty good. They also seem to follow up with buyers to track what is hatching and how to improve shipping, fertility, etc. They are serious true blue animal lovers and I have no doubt their geese are very well cared for. I believe I will be very pleased.

I purchased/won three of the buff dewlap toulouse from ratitemomma last Friday from their weekend special. They arrived on Wednesday from California to Connecticut. They had a heat pack in the box and sent an extra one. I should start to see something tomorrow or Sunday to see how fertility is.

Awesome, exner! I hope you show great fertility. Looking forward to the report. I can't wait to get mine!

Hey everyone... lots to report on my end today.

Erin.... I had my hubby set your eggs Wednesday night (with fat end upright). When I got home from my trip last night I candled them. 2 are scrambled, 1 has detached cell but looks hopeful, and 1 has an intact cell and appears to be developing. I will be re-sending you some money, and look forward to giving you updates as we go along. And by the way, regarding the colors.... I thought one of your ganders has buff genes and is bred back to the buff goose? If so, then I would think there is a teeny chance to hatch a buff gosling.

My other 6 goose eggs are on day 15 now. They are all developing well. I did my day 14 weigh-in last night, the results are:

Toulouse 1: 219-211-203
Toulouse 2: 196-188-182
Toulouse 3: 196-189-184
African 1: 153-149-145
African 2: 153-148-144
African 3: 149-144-140

Finally, my buff dewlap toulouse eggs should arrive tomorrow!!

They are from the ebay seller, ratitemomma. I purchased them though a private sale (not through ebay) after talking to them for over a half hour on the phone. They may not be the quality of Pete's stock, but I think the pics of their stock are still adorable!!

Yes he is out of flock of buffs, I am hoping like all get out someone gets a buff if not buffs! I sent you a PM, hoping to hear back from you shortly, I will check back later... off to tend the critters!

Iain those buffs are lovely breeding stock. Here is to a great hatch from those eggs.

Our buff saddle back Pomeranian eggs came today. Perfect packing job with intact air cells. Set them tonight with three new eggs from Peaches our lilac Sebastopol.

Starting to see eggs laid numbers decline from the early laying Sebastopols. Won't be long until they are all free ranging together again.
