Celtic may have signed off for the night. I think it is far enough along. Are you on end of day 28? If so, I would lock it down. You lock down too early the membrane too soft to punch through, but if you lock down too late, then membrane can shrink wrap. Your baby looks strong and good to pip, so I'd err on side of locking down sooner.

I don't want to end up with a little shrinky dink, but then I'm so worried about there being too much moisture left. I just took another peek, and the air cell is bigger than when I looked earlier and took the updated pics. I suck at guessing measurements and can't find a ruler to save my life. I would say it's like another centimeter smaller maybe. I can take another pic if need be

It's the end of day 27. I discovered the shadowing this morning. I wasn't there when I candled last night. So you think I should go ahead and lock it down? I added the water and got my humidity back up, so the hatcher is ready for it's first guest!

Hm.. End of day 27... Shadows only really began this morning... Probably wait until morning then to lock down.

My little 3/8 egg is officially on lock down now! No signs of internal pipping yet.

Ok, I'm confused here! The way I had my eggs counted up they should have hatched yesterday. But I have nothing, even under my broody goose. One of the eggs in the incubator is showing the shadowing, but has for the past couple days with no change. Any ideas???

Well, are you figuring for day 28, or allowing that geese may take up to 4 days longer than that? If your still less than day 32, I would give them more time still.
