Hope my baby goes to sleep in his box soon... my geese are getting upset that I have not let goslings out of coop yet.

Goosed, I had no idea their desire to be parents would be so strong, but it is obvious that they love the goslings. They guard them fiercely and coo softly to them with their heads lowered in a gentle bobbing fashion. They try to lay with each other up against the fence too.
I will let the geese have their goslings in a few weeks, once they are fully feathered in and do not need heat during the cold nights. They are 7 weeks old now.
Goosed, I think the spotted geese are very cool looking, but I figure if I am going to have birds (with the exception of the africans that I hatched for the geese on property), I want to pick quality purebreds in case I ever want to breed... to hopefully help preserve the breeds I have chosen.
Goosed, I have 3 dewlaps going into lockdown tonight/tomorrow, plus another 13 cooking in bator. If I hatch 50% of these eggs, I will have at least one, if not two, extra pairs that I will have to find homes for.
