By the way, that is an EXCELLENT picture of what shrink wrap looks like!! Did you get the nares freed??

Thank you! I had a good teacher

Yes, nares are free and baby is breathing! He (I think) is resting now. I'm sure he's exhausted after struggling to pip all night and day yesterday.

I tried not to make too big of a hole, but had to go up higher to get to the nares. I opened where I knew the baby wasn't right under because I didn't want to poke though and hit the baby or veins. I remember past instances of people being instructed to make a "small hole to see" and they ended up removing half the egg. I hate to learn from other's unfortunate mistakes....but this thread alone has taught me a lot!

UPDATE: Baby #2 is out and my goodness it is huge!! Was so stuck in sticky gunk, I had to give him a warm bath so he could move his legs, but he looks like he will be just fine!!

Goosed, your hole is perfect!!! You did everything right!!!! YAY for your baby!!!!

And thank you! How often do I need to moisten the membrane? Is there anything else I need to plan on doing? The last baby had some shrink wrap, but she ex pipped and was able to finish on her own once I moistened the membrane and jacked the humidity. This baby is much more shrinky though.
