I'm providing heat during the night only, as some nights have been quite cold. And usually I wake up about five, so I turn it off then if don't look cold.
I was thinking they'd be fine without it, but the Wyandotte isn't completely feathered yet. But was planning to try without it tonight.
I mean, they could be too hot in the mornings, from the heat lamp, but that wouldn't cause the blood, would it?
It hasn't been very warm here. It's true when they say Ireland rains all the time.

It is quite small. Like I said they're only using it for sleeping though.
Plus they can and do escape. They have the run of my bedroom. Which I don't mind, as I am thoroughly an animal person. But it's not natural and I was hoping to be able to let them get out as much as possible.
I'll have a look for another box. Maybe I can put them together and enlarge it.

End of the treatment week, and I am still seeing blood.
I started increasing the undiluted dose the last two days. Yesterday I saw no blood. Today I did. Not very much, but some. I've also stopped using the heat lamp.
I'm going to give them a break of a few days, try to build up their immune systems and start again.
Any suggestions, comments, thoughts?
Thanks.

Have you been? :D
It's lovely. I'm actually English, but we moved about 6 years back. If we'd stayed in England I wouldn't have been able to have cockerels.
I do love Ireland.

Might try that carrot recipe for the birds.
Yes, a very long time ago. Wonderful memories of our backpacking holiday. Once we almost lost our footing in a swamp when sliding off the logs used as boardwalk. Took us days to get dry again. Those were the days...
