Here we go....

I'm glad that you haven't seen any more blood in the poop. I hope you continue to see improvement.
Keep encouraging her to drink and eat like you have been doing. You may entice all the chicks to eat with a bit of scrambled egg stirred into a mash made of their feed. My chick(en)s love scrambled eggs.

Let us know how they are doing!
I scramble eggs for my birds with crushed shell still in them - and they LOVE the stuff - the little cannibals! :sick

I was just about to try and find some other places.
I was surprised none out of the three seemed to have it.
I'm going to make a list of the names it could be under and go down to the feed store anyway to check labels.
I'm willing to drive over half the country to find it, but I'm not the one who has to drive! So it's a bit out of my control.
Our nearest town is 20 k away. Maybe we'll be able to find something there.
Thanks for all your replies.

Wow I'm sorry about your poor luck. Definitely check the cattle/goat section because that's where I found meds in feed stores around here. I hope you're able to figure something out!

That's the problem. He didn't. I can't believe I didn't ask.
I was just so happy to have gotten it.
I think he said one mil per day for two days in the water and then follow up in a week, but I would surely need four ml and not 3.5.... would that make sense though if I gave them 2ml in two days and then after a week, 1.5 in two days?

Can you call back and ask? We've seen a few inexperienced vets/ or vet suppliers prescribing the wrong dose for poultry, it'd be wise to call back and make sure the dose is accurate before treating.

ACV will not treat coccidiosis. I would get some Amprolium medication, there are many brands, Corid is common in the US, Amprol, Amprocox, and Coxoid are some UK brands. You may have to get them from a vet there. Toltrazuril and sulfa meds can also be used, probably vet only. Yes, wet bedding in a brooder can make an outbreak more likely, warm, wet conditions are a good environment for coccidia.
Oh, and the vet rang. She looked into it.
You can't get Amprollium in Ireland.
Literally no one sells it.
Everyone has chickens, and yet no one has something to fight a common chicken illness??
You may have to try ordering medications. See if this is available to you.
I'm sorry you're having a hard time.

If they are still pooping blood, see if your vet can get your Toltrazuril.
In the mean time give your chicks cooked white rice with buttermilk to help sooth the intestines.
An overload can damage the intestines and birds can possibly end up with infection so see what else you can do.
Keep us posted.

Coxoid is often found at feed stores/pet shops in the UK. I realize you are in Ireland, but you may be able to order this - it's Amprolium https://www.harkersonline.co.uk/product/treatments/coxoid-treats-coccidiosis/

I will do.
It's quite green; they have been eating a LOT of grass.
They escaped from their box a couple of times today as well. But they've barely been in it. I figured the more space they had to roam, the less chance there was of picking up more cocci from dirty bedding, ect.
So I've literally been camped outside watching them all day yesterday and today.
They haven't eaten much chick crumb. Now I'm worrying they'll get wry neck, but to be honest, they've eaten a lot of good stuff and I just need to focus on the cocci now. At least I know what to do with wry neck.
If anyone can think of any plants that might be good to try....I'd welcome suggestions. I found some dandelion root for them yesterday and they ate some.
And thanks again for all your help. I really appreciate it.

I have just given them their chick crumb as a mash with chopped raw garlic & a bit of Greek yoghurt. They loved it.
One of them isn't drinking very much. And he wouldn't touch the dry chick crumb.
Do you think they have a chance if I can't get the medication?
It's hard to know, how well they will do.
Did you give them the medication that the feed store guy gave you? Was that to go in their water?
I have no idea what he gave you, but I would finish the medication as he instructed and if that goes in the water, then make sure they are drinking the medicated water - if you need to, syringe the water into them a few times a day - often it's not the medication that doesn't work, it's the birds don't drink/consume enough of the medication for it to be effective.

Oops! I just realized there is a photo of my roo 😂 I didn't deliberately post that, but it's raining and my screen is wet and not working correctly.
While I'm talking about him, he's a very handsome young man, isn't he? 🤣
Oh and I don't think I have electrolytes.
Yup! He certainly is a pretty boy! I have a soft spot for roosters. I don't cull. If I can't sell or rehome them, they stay in my bachelor flock, which currently numbers seven - from 11 months to three years old. Theirs is the prettiest, most entertaining run on the place. I LOVE "The Boys!"
Electrolytes are easy to make. I use them periodically throughout the summer, mainly as a boost because of the heat. They're also good to use when your birds need a little extra stress support - like when they're sick. There's a good video right here on BYC:
