cknmom and Backyard Buddies... I found an article like that in a Sunset magazine some years ago. It's still around here somewhere ..maybe in the garage? ...I'll see if I can locate it. This one is several recipes using a roasted vegetable mix ..Chicken one night, pizzas another, lasagna another and so on.. so not identical, but similar idea.
If you two find your versions, I'd love to have copies!
skand... here's a short list of some of the "must have at all times" in my pantry and elsewhere:
-Bread flour and whole wheat, too
-Cornmeal
-Sea Salt and extra spices/herbs (ie., peppercorns, paprika, dry thyme, oregano, basil, parsley ...stuff that doesn't do well in my little herb garden all year long, etc.)
-Sugar and honey
-Tea and coffee beans
-Rice ..short/jasmine and long/basmati
-Potatoes, onions, garlic
-Red, black, white/navy, pinto beans ..lentils or splits, too
-Various cuts of "canned" tomatoes.. diced, crushed, sauce...
-Pasta sauce
-Pasta.. quick cook lasagna, spaghetti, elbows, etc.
-Carrots, mushrooms, cabbage
-Frozen spinach, collards, green beans, petite peas, whole kernel corn
-Chicken (breasts, whole, wings) and ground beef
-Pound of Tillamook Colby cheese
-Eggs (my girls aren't laying yet)
-Milk
-EVOO and vegetable oil
-Butter
These are things I
cannot run out of ..cuz no matter what, I can pull together some kind of dinner out of these ingredients ..and for a few days, if necessary.
