Since a Vet is hands on, they can figure it out much easier than we can here on BYC. Crop issues are difficult to diagnose because many internal ailments can cause crops to be slow and just treating the crop issue won't fix the root of the problem. Things from a stuck egg, worms, Coccidiosis, liver disease, tumors, internal laying, heart disease, impacted intestines or gizzard, ect... so many things to slow a crop. Sometimes it is a simple yeast infection of the crop or intestines, (vent gleet) but often the slow crop is a secondary issue. So definitely take her to a vet that can do a thorough exam.I will - thank you so much! I did post on the emergency thread you shared. I've had one reply and they wonder if it's a crop issue and not to bother with a vet since they don't know how to treat chickens - I specifically researched one that specializes in poultry. I can't feel Tally's crop...though maybe I'm feeling in the wrong place - I did watch some videos to help locate it. And she hasn't laid in 4 days, so I'm still leaning toward calling the vet in the morning.
