Homeschool moms - I need help w/ math curriculum

We have used Abeka for most everything. That is until my oldest decided she absolutely hated math. That is when I started looking a bit. I needed something that was maybe more practicle to life situations and not dry to loose her more. We then switched to Bob Jones Univ. I have since switched my middle daughter to it also. We have used the 3 to 7th program. It isn't as fast paced at Abeka, but I see the kids "get it" a lot quicker with this program. My youngest is still on 1st grade Abeka math and does fine. We will see if we switch him come 3rd grade or let him go further. My oldest is gifted really and my middle is dyslexic. BJU math just fit our needs better.

Don't know what we would do without our dry board. Great for working problems and understanding concepts.

The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives is a great tool for "hands-on" math via the computer. It has over 100 interactive activities that visually represent physical math "manipulatives" (such as an abacus or pentominoes or geoboard) for the student to interact with on the computer without having to have the actual physical objects. It also provides Instructions and Parent/Teacher information for each activity.
Here is an example of one of the interactive activities:

The NLVM's development was sponsored by the National Science Foundation so it is FREE to use at http://nlvm.usu.edu. It currently gets <3 million hits daily!
