Hoover’s new 2021 “Easter Eggers”

This pullet came from rural king . She was labeled as an EE. She is an obvious legbar mix. I have 4 EE that came from the same bin . Two are like this one and the the other 2 have no crest or muff. All 4 do have yellow legs though. She laid her first egg yesterday.

I got 10 EEs from TSC - Hoover's this year - they all have yellow legs and no face floofs - the description was slate legs etc.

9 look like that and one turned out to look different:View attachment 2750462

I mean, don't get me wrong... easter eggers can look like anything; any color feathers or patterns, muffs and beard or not, crested or not, any leg color, any type of comb.... so there's a possibility these are easter eggers... but these look a lot like production reds, and TSC will never know what they have. They just put the labels on that the hatchery sends. Even if their wrong.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen silver laced wyanddottes mixed with barred rocks and/or cuckoo marans... and they don't know which is which.

Well I ordered them online through tractor supply and they were delivered from Hoover's to the post office where I picked them up so TSC never touched them...but you are right, my sister in law grabbed up a silkie at TSC that was mixed in and they didn't know the difference there.
These are my first chickens and although not one fell ill - they're now 12 weeks old and healthy, in the future I'll find a breeder if I want specific breeds.

If you want special breeds, that's a definete thing... just make sure you learn about the breed specifics of what you want. There are tons out there who miss-identify, or misrepresent their breeds. For instance, people breeding americana and selling them as true ameraucana.
